Baby Holder

This posting is for my in-laws who were wondering how a baby holder is used. Hopefully, you can make out the details.

Summer Projects

Can't wait for the summer to start! Two more days of school until I officially start decompressing and vegetating. Hubby is always ambivalent about my summers off. On the one hand, he revels in the fact that I will take all his share of the household chores off his hands and do them myself because I have the "extra" time. His breakfasts and dinners become three-course meals thanks to my uninterrupted, daily devotion to the Food Network. However, he also knows that I need to be entertained which usually involves moi taking on new projects which, as you might have guessed, entails spending money. So this summer, I vow to transform our oh-so-blah guest bedroom into Gigi's sleeping santuary. Hubby and I have decided to use a fabulous Chinese embroidery that my sis sent me as the inspiration piece for Gi's room. The embroidery is a depiction of six Chinese children flying a dragon kite.

a new toy

Just received my blue/purple batik-dyed seahorse over-the-shoulder-baby-holder. I've been wearing it and adjusting and readjusting it for about an hour now with a Chinese baby doll stuffed inside. Of course the doll is only about 16 oz. verses the 16 lbs. that the Gigster might weigh when we finally get to hold her in our arms. Maybe when hubby gets home, I'll have him try it on too and ooze comments like, "Wow! Honey, the holder really compliments your skin tone and brings out the color of your eyes!" Hmm, wonder how well that will go after a long day at the office?

Paper Pregnant At Last

I know what you're thinking---why am I now just blogging about our China adoption journey? Quite simply, I have the time now! The school year is about to end and my paperchasing is done. Hubs and I are logged in as of 5/17/06. We are on the expedited track but let's see what happens. Just to fill you in a little, we started this process back in November 2005. Our paperchasing went relatively smoothly with a few minor bumps in the road. We waited an agonzing three months for the West Palm Beach USCIS office to issue us the 171. Now a little about us. I am a middle school teacher of Chinese descent and hubs is crazy, goofy Brazilian. When he is not busy being goofy, he's a computer geek at a publishing company. We often refer to our daughter, Gigi, as the Gigster in case you're wondering what in the world is G-I-G-S-T-E-R. We can't wait to meet her and bring her home!
